Halton Libraries are hosting two fascinating talks on the local history and cultural identity of Widnes and Runcorn, as part of the BBC Civilisations Festival.
The Architecture of Runcorn is a talk by Runcorn & District Historical Society at Halton Lea Library, on Tuesday, March 6, at 6pm.
The talk will beabout Runcorn’s architecture, the varied buildings/bridges in Runcorn and how they have contributed to the cultural identity of Runcorn.
The second event is a talk by Catalyst Museum, at Widnes Library, on Wednesday, March 7, at 6pm.
It is a lecture on Halton’s industrial heritage, using material from Catalyst Museum’s extensive archives.
Industry is an important component of Halton’s modern-day identity and this talk promises to be a must for all local history enthusiasts.
