St Bede’s is top of the class in Widnes

Two top primary schools in Widnes have been identified in figures published by the Department of Education.

St Bede’s Catholic Junior School topped the league table of results for key stage two SATs results, with 83% of pupils attaining the expected standard.

Another high quality performer was St John Fisher Catholic Primary School where 74% met expected standard.

Poor performers iwere Simms Cross Primary School, Widnes (23%) and Widnes Academy (33%).
