Police are hunting an armed robber who threatened staff in a Widnes convenience store with a wheel brace before making off with a quantity of cash from till. He burst into the shop on Ditchfield Road near its junction with Liverpool Road just before 8pm on Sunday evening.
Detectives investigating say the robber suspect was wearing a black hooded jacket and black trousers. They believe that he may have got into a waiting Mercedes car.
Detective Constable Tina Jackson told Widnes and Runcorn World: “Thankfully the victim in the cases was not injured. However she has been left shaken as a result of her ordeal.
“We are currently following a number of lines of enquiry in relation to the incident and as part of our investigation I’m keen to hear from anyone who trusts that they may have any information which could assist our investigation.”
