Man charged following charity box theft in Widnes

A 44-year-old man from Widnes has been charged by officers investigating a cancer charity box theft in the town.

Reginald Aitchinson, of Victoria Road, was arrested in Widnes shortly after 8.30pm on Wednesday 13 May.

He has since been charged with theft.

The charge relates to an incident at a pharmacy on Hale Road in Widnes.

The incident occurred shortly before 1.30pm on Monday 11 May.

Aitchinson has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 14 May.
